Polymarket Signs Deal With X As 'Official Prediction Market Partner'
Polymarket and the social media platform 'are launching an integrated product to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to Polymarket'; Kalshi left out in cold.
Editor’s note: The Cashout will be published on Saturday this week.
Polymarket is now the official prediction market platform of social media platform X.
The announcement came, not shockingly, on X/Twitter.
From the @X account: “we’re joining forces with Polymarket as our official prediction market partner”
Polymarket: “The next information age won’t be driven by the 20th century’s media monoliths — it’ll be driven by markets. Our partnership with @X marks a new chapter for truth on the internet. The future of news is optimized for truth, rooted in transparency, and anchored in reality.”
Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan: “Proud to announce @Polymarket’s partnership with @X and @xai as their Official Prediction Market Partner. The two top truth seeking apps on the internet are stronger together. Welcome to News 2.0. Stay tuned.
X owner Elon Musk had not yet posted about the deal.
Here’s a full press release on the deal:
Polymarket, the world's largest prediction market, and 𝕏 today announced an official partnership through which Polymarket will serve as the official Prediction Market Partner to 𝕏. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
As part of the agreement, Polymarket and 𝕏 are launching an integrated product to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to Polymarket. Polymarket predictions will be combined with 𝕏 data to provide live insights, incorporating real-time annotations explaining market moves directly from Grok and relevant 𝕏 posts. The product, launching today, will be the first of a suite of integrations and unique experiences that Polymarket and 𝕏 will jointly develop via the partnership.
"Combining Polymarket's accurate, unbiased, and real-time prediction market probabilities with Grok's analysis and 𝕏's real time insights will enable us to provide contextualized, data-driven insights to millions of Polymarket users around the world instantaneously," said Shayne Coplan, founder and CEO of Polymarket. "We are proud to work with 𝕏 as the official prediction market partner and to continue our fruitful collaboration developing an innovative suite of product integrations. We look forward to enhancing 𝕏 and Polymarket users' ability to make instant sense of breaking news and make informed decisions about the future as we continue to scale our platform."
"Polymarket ensures transparency through its prediction markets, and has grown into a staple source of real-time information for many 𝕏 users," said Linda Yaccarino, CEO of 𝕏. "We are pleased to partner with Polymarket and look forward to bringing our data and technology to Polymarket users through a range of creative product integrations."
Polymarket has proven to be the world's most accurate source for forecasting elections, events, and cultural shifts, and this partnership reinforces Polymarket's and 𝕏's shared commitment to free information, open markets, and a more transparent internet.
Since its launch in 2020, Polymarket has experienced tremendous growth as it has emerged as a vital source of trusted real-time information around the world. Over $8 billion of predictions were made on Polymarket in 2024, and billions of dollars of predictions have been made on Polymarket so far in 2025.
It’s an interesting partnership, as Polymarket exited the US officially and is not a regulated exchange by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. It has blocked US users since 2022 as part of a settlement with the CFTC. It serves large swaths of the rest of the world, and Americans can find workarounds to trade on Polymarket.
It comes just a few weeks after Kalshi had said that it did a deal with Musk’s xAI platform. That deal was announced and then rescinded the same day.
The timing is also interesting, given the public falling out between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk just yesterday. Both men had lauded Kalshi and prediction markets in the past; Donald Trump Jr. is an advisor to Kalshi. Now, Trump and Musk are clearly not aligned on which company should win the prediction market wars moving forward.
X also has a deal with BetMGM as a sports betting partner; Polymarket allows betting on sports.
