I take a look at the weekly numbers from New York sports betting, which show no new traction for ESPN Bet. Plus a deep dive into sports betting and fantasy app download metrics from recent weeks and months.

US gambling roundup for Dec. 13
A dispatch from the National Council on Legislators from Gaming States winter meeting, where sweepstakes casinos and sportsbooks are a hot-button topic.
Meanwhile, the Social and Promotional Gaming Association announced the implementation of a Code of Conduct for its operator members that is “designed to spotlight the processes and technologies already in place at both SPGA member sites and the majority of social casinos offering promotional sweepstakes.” The SPGA’s existing named members are 10 Ten Gaming, Blazesoft, Fliff, FSG Digital, Gold Coin Group, High 5 Entertainment, KHK Games, Kickr Games, Octacom, Rolling Riches, and Woopla Gaming. Nearly 100 sweepstakes operators are serving the US today.

ESPN Bet weekly numbers
We only get weekly numbers in New York, so it’s our best litmus test to see if ESPN Bet is turning things around/growing/etc. in the short term. Last week in this space, I took a look at how ESPN Bet has been doing (paywalled) with the early numbers since account linking with the core ESPN app began in November.
