I always preface this with "I am not a lawyer" but they run a sweepstakes exactly like all sorts of sweepstakes that operate in the US. They just happen to put a gambling product behind the sweepstakes.
Of course, that likely puts them in conflict with other laws, just like with DFS vs the house. Fliff and the online casinos that run on the same model...no one has come for them really yet, but it's also hard to believe they'll be immune forever.
